BRUCE IN THE USA IS MUCH MORE THAN JUST ANOTHER TRIBUTE

This high-energy musical experience is a note-perfect and visually accurate recreation of a Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band show. Matt Ryan, from the World Famous “Legends In Concert” cast, began playing the Springsteen character in 2000, in Legends “full scale” Las Vegas show.

In 2004 Matt joined forces with a powerhouse band of professional musicians to form the Bruce In The USA show. Bruce In The USA has taken this genre of performance art to a whole new level, making it the World’s #1 Tribute to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s musical legacy.

Since 2004 Bruce In The USA has continually performed the music of Bruce Springsteen for fans across the globe. Bruce In The USA also created and performs their Symphonic Springsteen show which is written for 72 piece orchestra. For more information on Symphonic Springsteen click here.

The Boss – Matt Ryan

Matt Ryan grew up in a musical family. At an early age Matt began to use the family piano to play and compose music. Matt was soon drawn to drums and this is where his musical journey would begin.

While working as a professional drummer, Matt was introduced into the production end of the music industry. Matt began to produce and record other artist as well as his own personal recording projects. The success of his production company/recording studio soon lead Matt’s interest into other areas of the music industry.
Matt soon became fascinated with the theatrical world of live performance art. With part of Matt’s educational background being in the dramatic arts the next part of his journey was a natural progression. Matt soon found his calling producing and performing in live theatre shows and rock concert shows.

In the year 2000, Matt moved his production company to Las Vegas, NV to perform the “Springsteen” character for Legends In Concert. Soon after, Matt, along with partner, Matthew Sully (Miami Steve) produced the one of a kind show, Bruce In The USA. The Show had its acclaimed debut on the Las Vegas strip at the Aladdins, V Theatre. With hard work and an old school ethic, Matt along with Sully and the band brought, Bruce In The USA from a show on the Vegas strip to the top rated National touring act it is today.

Matthew Sully Sullivan grew up in Virginia just outside of Washington DC. At an early age he was drawn to the music of Bruce Springsteen. “The first album I ever bought was Greetings From Asbury Park and my first rock concert was “The River Tour” at the Capital Center at the age of 14 years”. Sully played guitar as a teenager and with local bands after high school before receiving a scholarship to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) where he graduated with honors. Sully received a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies and classical guitar and was fortunate to study for two of his 4 years with jazz legend Ellis Marsalis (Father of Wynton & Branford).

After graduating, Sully relocated to Las Vegas in the mid-1990s, where he quickly established himself as a sought-after guitarist in the city’s thriving music scene.

During his time in Las Vegas, Sully’s talent led him to perform in major showrooms, backing renowned artists and participating in high-profile productions. His notable engagements included: Cirque Du Soleil’s Ka, David Cassidy’s shows, and Sheena Easton’s performances.These opportunities in Las Vegas served as a springboard for Sully’s career, leading to touring opportunities with many of the artists and shows he had worked with in the city.

In 2004, Sully co-founded Bruce In The USA, a high-energy musical tribute celebrating the music of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Originally launched at Las Vegas’s Aladdin V Theatre, the show quickly grew into one of the top tribute acts in the world, acclaimed for its authenticity and powerful live performances. Initially conceived as a side project, the show’s popularity has led to a successful 20-year run, with ongoing tours across the United States and internationally.

Sully also leads his own rock band, The Sullied, which released the critically praised album Meltdown in 2002. The album earned recognition from reviewers such as MusicDish.com, which called it one of the best rock releases of the year. “The Sullied” – The self-titled follow-up CD, was also well-received and showcased a diverse range of Sully’s musical influences by blending elements from artists like Jimi Hendrix to composers such as Igor Stravinsky.

The Big Man

Darryl Jones is a talented musician and passionate entertainer. For over 50 years he has performed with gospel, r&b, jazz, reggae, rock, country and soca groups.

Born and raised in Lexington, KY, at an early age he began playing saxophone. Darryl attended Western Kentucky University and earned a football scholarship. After graduating with a BA Degree in Public Relations and a minor in Music he moved to the DC region, which has been his home since 1980.

His artistic growth reflects in how he dazzles and connects with Bruce in the USA audiences since April 2016.

Joey Lunsford

Pianist Joey Lunsford resides in Brooklyn NY, and when he’s not busy with Bruce In The USA, he is very active in the NY music scene as a performer and educator. He is on the teaching staff at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, as well maintaining several private students. Joey appears on the newly released CD from saxophonist Danny Walsh, “Entering In”, which also features the legendary jazz drummer Lenny White (Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, etc.), check it out at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/dannywalsh.

Joey is also the keyboardist for “America’s Got Talent” winner and Epic

recording artist Michael Grimm, with whom he toured last summer as the opening act on the Stevie Nicks USA tour.

Joey also works with another project, “The Music of Queen Rock and Symphonic Spectacular”, a London-based touring company that pits a rock band and rock singers with symphony orchestra support, appearing with the Colorado Philharmonic Orchestra, Rochester Symphony, and many others.

Since 2006, Joey has played both the Piano position and Organ/Key position with Bruce In The USA. Joey’s great musical talent and solid piano playing is the foundation of the Bruce In The USA

Organ & Keys

performed by Jake "Juice" Persofsky

Jake Persofsky is a Philly-based keyboardist who’s been playing live music for over 20 years. He’s been part of just about every kind of show—club gigs, big festivals, full productions with symphonies, and everything in between. With Bruce in the USA, Jake covers the organ and synth chair, doing his best to keep the energy up and the E Street spirit intact every night.

He’s been working in the tribute world since 2011, including national tours with Legends in Concert and a stretch as both keyboardist and tour manager for a Michael Jackson tribute that played across the U.S., Germany, and Australia. He’s known for showing up prepared, playing with feel, and helping make the whole band sound better—whether it’s a last-minute fill-in or a long-haul run.

When he’s not on the road, Jake spends time arranging, programming, and helping other players troubleshoot their gear setups. But the stage is still where he’s most at home—locked in with the band, focused on the moment, and making sure the show hits the mark.

Bass

performed by Patrick “The Hammer” Thornton

Patrick ‘Hammer’ Thornton Hammer is a bassist and songwriter from Virginia that has put his signature ‘Stank’ on several local and national artists for over 3 decades.

From DC funk band Boogiehawg, he weaved his way through Taylor Carson, Welbilt, Pat McGee Band, Brian Fechino, Todd Wright, Laura Tsaggaris, Toby Lightman, Tony Lucca, Everything, No Second Troy and Tiffany Thompson just to name a few.

Patrick recently released an EP titled ‘Mercy’ with longtime friend and bandmate/producer Brian Fechino. The bass was produced through effects pedals, transforming its sound to mimic qualities of strings, organs, pads and evenguitars. Combined with Brian’s melodic and memorable guitar, the soundscape ended up being exactly what Hammer needed for his vocals and stories to find their place.

Tommy Anderson – Drums / Background Vocals

Born and raised in New York, Tommy is a seasoned drummer with over four decades behind the kit and more than thirty years of professional experience in live performance, touring, recording, arranging, and private instruction. Deeply rooted in the diverse musical culture of the New York area, Tommy’s playing reflects a broad command of styles and an unwavering commitment to groove, musicality, and precision.

Tommy started playing drums at a very early age and began his formal percussion journey in high school under Anthony Ambrogio, and then as a member of the world renowned Cadets of Bergen County Drum and Bugle Corps under Tom Aungst. His passion for learning and mastery had since led him to study privately under some of the most respected names in drumming, including Dom Famularo, Jim Chapin, Frank Bellucci, Al Miller, Robby Ameen, Sam Ulano, Tommy Igoe, Bobby Rondinelli, and Randy Knudsen.

Since the mid-1990s, Tommy has played with an extensive roster of bands and artists across multiple genres. Some of the bands and artists he’s played with include Nine Days, Deep C Revival, Maniac, Sorethumb, JD Leonard, Mark MacKay, John Hampson, Jimmy Buffett, Ben Cott, Danny Hamilton, Kenn Mann, George Cintron, Mike Delguidice, Robert Maynard, Tom McGuire Band, and many others. In 2015, he joined Bruce in the USA and has since toured nationally and internationally as their drummer.

In addition to his performing career, Tommy has been a dedicated percussion instructor and arranger. Since 1990, he has worked extensively with several drum lines as well as teaching private lessons. He continues to offer private drum instruction on Long Island, where he shares his wealth of experience with the next generation of drummers.
